Thinking this is a great way to rein in at least some abuse of taxpayer dollars, and save a few children, too! (It is also relevant to what we are doing!)

Connecting the Dots
Thought you'd be interested in the following article from Bloomberg News:
http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601124&sid=a4V6UEpXf_mY&refer=home
In a letter sent today to the National Alliance for Mental Illness, based in Arlington, Virginia, Grassley asked the nonprofit group to disclose any financial backing from drug companies or from foundations created by the industry.
The Iowa Republican, in a series of hearings and investigations, has focused on financial ties between the drug industry, doctors and academic institutions. His efforts have led New York-based Pfizer Inc. to begin disclosing consulting payments to U.S. doctors, and Harvard Medical School in Boston to reexamine its conflict-of-interest policies. Now Grassley is expanding his inquiries to nonprofit groups.
“I have come to understand that money from the pharmaceutical industry shapes the practices of nonprofit organizations which purport to be independent in their viewpoints and actions,” Grassley wrote in his letter.
Officials at the National Alliance for Mental Illness didn’t return calls for comment.

Deep Breathing/health DVD's and video
I have a video made in 1996 called "Shim Shin Key". It has deep breathing, self massage w/ a wooden rope roller, more deep breathing with movement, and ends with meditation. I love it, and realized it is a perfect thing for class participants. Unfortunately it is also out of production!
So I called the Collage Video site where I bought it, and they recommended two DVD's that are similar-- except no self-message. "Qi Gong fire & Water" Tai Chi. They said it is "very calming, rejuvenating & nurturing". The other one is "Crunch Candlelight Yoga" with Sarah Ivanhoe. They both include deep breathing exercises and some meditation along with respective exercises. That website is www.ColageVideo.com.
My husband found a self-massage rope roller after looking for some time on the internet. It's on a website called Lucky Vitamin.com. It's called the Double Rope massage roller. If only Jhoon Rhee would do another Shim Shin Key video. It's perfect! And he served as an advisor to Presidents Reagan and Bush so it makes it real ligit. Oh well. Any of you want to make an exercise dvd?
Health to All!
